Every meal is made to taste, always a personal experience. Cabins lodging is great. So close to the best hiking & fishing. Always saw bears, take care. Bird watching, moose & elk abounds. Beautiful
The whole setting was designed to help you get the most out the park experience removed from some of the crowds. The cabin was extremely comfortable and the service through-out the lodge was exceptional. HOWEVER, the American plan, which included dinner and breakfast, was more than a disappointment. Dinner was a D- before you consider the price. At $92/person, it was outrageously sub-standard. We were told we were lucky because this was the one night a year the chef had a special farm-to-table dinner. The salads were not tasty and difficult to eat. The lamb and steak entrees were totally uncooked, and didn't appear to be very good cuts of meat. We send them back. One person at the table next to us was so turned off by his uncooked meat that he had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich instead! The dessert was the worst we've had on our 3-week vacation. Despite that, nothing bad can be said about the service. The staff was excellent. They offered to try to make the entrees better. The only thing that could make that meal better would have been no charge. That being said, the natural setting and excellent service made our visit an overall positive experience anyway.
Service is always extremely impressive, and the food is absolutely unparalleled anywhere. The accommodations are perhaps a tad rustic for some people, but are still quite comfortable. The horseback rides included as an amenity with the price of the room is also a highlight.
The staff has been wonderful and are so helpful with anything asked of them. We even had a minor medical emergency as soon as we arrived, and the medic at the front desk responded immediately. The meals in the lodge restaurant are absolutely fantastic with a variety of options.
The cabins are quaint and cozy. The lodge dining room is superb - excellent food and fantastic service! There are lots of great hikes nearby, as well as opportunities for canoeing and horseback riding. I hope to come back!
